Lomandra longifolia "Mat Rush" forestry tube

A clumping, strappy leafed plant which is great for erosion control. Compared to the other common "Mat Rush" (Lomandra hystrix), the foliage of Lomandra longifolia has a more grey-green hue and the plant itself doesn't tolerate waterlogging as well; on the plus side it tolerates drought better. The flowers are a yellow/cream colour and lightly scented. The foliage can be used for weaving and basket making. Best in full sun; part shade is ok.
